So.. as many as you know, the 2010 Grammy Awards took place yesterday January 31st, 2010... I really enjoyed the entire show, especially Beyonce and Pink's acrobatic performance..
However, when the most awaited award finally came..... I was totally stunned and dissapointed when I heard that Taylor Swift was the winner of the Album of the year!!!!!! I mean, reaaaally?.. I'm going to keep it real right now.. I like Taylor, she can write her own music, and is a cute little girl... but she was up against REAL TALENT, like Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Black Eye Peas..... and that little girl still won????
What is going on with the music industry? Did they just forget that Beyonce's "Single Ladies" song was playing 24/7 on almost every radio station? ????? I mean come on!......Beyonce can sing.. but did you hear Taylor's performance? I mean.. I didn't know if I should cry or just die.... I was just waiting for Kanye West to jump on the stage and do the same thing he did on the MTV video music awards.....
I don't mean to offend anybody... I'm just keeping it real...

Laura a little harsh aren't we! hahahaha Taylor is very talented, a little overrated, but definately talented nonetheless. However i do agreed that Beyonce should have taken that Grammy too. keep on keeping it real ahahahahah

Beyonce or the BEP should have won the prize, BUT Taylor is a great singer, I really like her, and I think she's very talented, but competed with people with a much higher level, and yes.. if we're speaking of competition, another singer should have won the award.

Ok Girl! I agree that Taylor Swift is not a good vocalist. She is almost always out of tune. However, along with Single Ladies, her songs are ALWAYS on the radio. I think she is an incredible song writer and business woman. Beyonce, GaGa, and Pink are talented as well. Taylor is a great role model. She never tries to be too sexy, she really puts fans first, she does great things for the community and the students of Hendersonville High, and she has done incredible things for country music. She brought in an entire new age group of fans for country. That did amazing things for the country music industry as well as our city of Nashville. Fearless probably outsold all of the other girls albums, so as for album of the year, yes I think she deserves it. Female Vocalist? Never. But I must say it is very refreshing to have a woman out there that young girls can look up to who wouldn't be caught dead in a leotard onstage exposing everything to the world! Look forward to more posts!

ReplyDeleteHonestly I thought that the award as a best album of the year was going to go to Beyonce or The Black Eyed Peas and i was impressed when they called Taylor Swift, but i think she has brought a different alternative music to the young people and I like that. We should give the opportunity to young talents, specially when you see that Taylor Swift has worked hard to reach the place where she is now. I like her simplicity and dedication for her fans and country music.

Nop.. don't agree with that.. too different styles and trajectories were on the same box competing...
